Eclectic by character.
United in impact.

Carlton Hotels is a family of 11 unique hotels across Europe. Every hotel has its own atmosphere, location and character. What connects us is the way we deal with our impact.

We want our hotels to be more than pleasant places to stay or to work. We want them to contribute something positive, for our people, our communities and the world around us.

That is why we are building a clear sustainability approach for the years ahead. With concrete steps, realistic goals and room to keep learning and improving.

Our people

Our people make Carlton what it is. They create the guest experience, every day.

That is why we are building a working environment where you feel at home, where you are seen as an individual and where there is room to grow.

We offer training and development opportunities, encourage internal progression and work with personal goals that match each person’s talents and ambitions. We bring different generations and backgrounds together and create a place where everyone feels welcome.

We regularly measure how our teams are doing and keep improving where needed. And whether you are just starting out, moving up or moving on, you will always be part of the Carlton family.

Our goal: to create a working environment in which employees can develop, progress and stay connected to Carlton over the long term.

Responsible sourcing & less waste

Much of our impact lies in the everyday choices we make. In what we buy, what we serve and how we handle waste.

We increasingly work with suppliers who are transparent about their products and their origin. When we renovate, we look for opportunities to reuse and we ask questions about materials and lifespan.

At the same time, we are taking steps to reduce waste, increase recycling and cut food waste. For example by purchasing more precisely, matching portion sizes more carefully and working with initiatives such as Too Good To Go.

Our goal: we are working towards less residual waste per stay, more recycling and less food waste per stay.

Climate & environmental footprint

We take a critical look at our energy and water use and at our CO₂ emissions. Where can we be smarter about what we use? Where can we use less?

We are mapping this more accurately hotel by hotel and taking steps to improve. Think of energy savings, more efficient water use and exploring more sustainable energy sources. From 2027, we will purchase fully renewable electricity for all of our hotels.

We have the ambition to reduce CO₂ emissions per hotel and work with clear targets to get there.

We are on our way, step by step, with an eye for what is already possible today and what can be better tomorrow.

Local entrepreneurship & community

Our hotels are inseparable from their surroundings. From the people, flavours and stories that make each place unique.

We work with local producers and partners and bring that local identity to life inside our hotels. From dishes on the menu to collaborations with businesses in the neighbourhood.

That way, we give guests more than a stay. We give them an experience in which they really get to know the place. And at the same time, we contribute to a strong and lively community.

Our goal: every hotel develops initiatives and partnerships that contribute to its local surroundings and fit the character of the destination.

One collection, united in impact

Eclectic by character means that every hotel keeps its own identity.

United in impact means that we work on improvement together: each in our own way, but in the same direction.

We share our progress every year in our Impact Report and continue to learn, test and improve.

For us, hospitality goes beyond comfort. It is about attention, responsibility and moving forward together.

Our approach on Voorne-Putten

Carlton Oasis is part of the Voorne-Putten region, where local people, entrepreneurs and community initiatives play an important role in how we work and welcome our guests.

During our renovation, we actively look for ways to give materials from old hotel rooms a second life. Furniture that is still usable is rehomed through reuse partners wherever possible. We also work with local company Eco Concepts, which transforms old carpets, fabrics and upholstery into new products such as pouches and gifts for guests and business relations.

Beyond our hotel walls, we also look for ways to create positive impact. We partner with Humanitas to host a weekly breakfast for elderly people affected by loneliness, and we are developing a bee hotel for the local area together with local partners.

Green Key

Carlton Oasis holds Green Key certification, Gold level (last assessed in 2025). Green Key is the international eco-label for sustainable business practice in the hospitality sector. An independent auditor assesses areas such as our energy and water use, waste separation, purchasing and the way we communicate about all of this. As a guest, you will notice this in the choices we make and in the way our team works together on improvement.

More than just a green façade

Our green façade is one of the first things you'll notice when you arrive. But our commitment to sustainability goes far beyond what you see on the outside. We're constantly looking for smarter ways to use energy, water and materials, while reducing our impact on the environment.

We also believe that real progress happens when we work together. That's why we're part of the Duurzame Bedrijvenroute, a network where we share knowledge and experiences with other businesses in the region. By learning from one another, we're working towards a greener future for Voorne-Putten.

A fresh squeeze, a second life

Ever wondered what happens to the orange peels left behind after we squeeze fresh orange juice at restaurant ROAM? They get a surprising second life!

Together with Dutch Soap Company, we give our orange peels a new purpose. Natural ingredients are extracted from the peels and used to make soap, turning something that would otherwise go to waste into something valuable.

It's a great example of how working together can turn waste into something new.
